Properties and Uses:

Tangerine essential oil is rich in limonene and been extensively studied for its ability to combat tumor growth (according to the Essential Oil Desk Reference in over 50 clinical studies). It is used for obesity, insomnia, nervous tension, irritability, liver issues, digestive issues, parasites and fluid retention.


Tangerine contains esters and aldehydes, which are sedating and calming to the nervous system. People have testified to the to the soothing benefits of diffusing Tangerine and Marjoram for emotional issues such as grief and shock.

 

Application:

Topical: Dilute 50/50 with a carrier oil and apply 2-4 drops on location as desired. Tangerine is photosensitive and may cause a rash or dark pigmentation on skin exposed to direct sunlight or UV rays within 1-2 days after application.

Inhalation: Directly inhale or diffuse (undiluted)

Internal: Suitable to take as a dietary supplement.

Avoid eye contact. In case of accidental contact, put a few drops of any pure vegetable oil in the eye. Water will not adequately dilute the oil. We’ve never known this to cause permanent injury or long-term discomfort, but if you feel concerned, please call your doctor if necessary.
