Plant Origin: Nepal

Extraction Method: Steam distillation from roots

Key Constituents:

Calarene 22-35%

Beta-Ionene 4-8%

Beta-Maaliene 4-9%

Aristoladiene 3-7%

 

Properties and Uses:

Spikenard is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, is a relaxant and immune stimulant. It is commonly used to help with insomnia, menstrual issues such as PMS, heart arrhythmia and nervous tension. It is a good choice for regenerating the skin.

 

Application:

Topical: Apply 2-4 drops on location as desired.

Inhalation: Directly inhale - may be too thick to diffuse through a glass nebulizer.

Internal: Can be taken internally as a dietary supplement.

 

Safety:

Avoid eye contact. In case of accidental contact, put a few drops of any pure vegetable oil in the eye. Water will not adequately dilute the oil. We’ve never known this to cause permanent injury or long-term discomfort, but if you feel concerned, please call your doctor if necessary.
