Zingiber Cassumunar

Plant Origin: Thailand, wild crafted

Extraction Method: Steam distilled from root

Sabinene 25-45%

gamma-Terpinene 5-10%

alpha-Terpinene 2-55

Terpinen-4-ol 25-45%

Properties and Usage:

Plai essential oil is has been used effectively for aches and pains, inflammations, joint issues, muscle spasms, sprains and strains, torn muscles and ligaments, asthma, sinus issues, chronic colds, colic, constipation, diarrhea, fevers, flatulence, heartburn, weak immune response, flu, nausea and respiratory issues.

Although Plai is in the Ginger family, it does not possess the classic "heat" that is common to the rhizomes. It has a cooling action on inflamed areas.

Topical: Dilute 50:50 with carrier oil and apply 2-4 drops on location or as desired.

Inhalation: directly inhale or diffuse

Internal: Add to food or water as a dietary supplement.

Testimonies:

I injured my knee and had a badly inflamed joint. The best combination for me was: Plai (with a carrier oil diluted 10% essential oils to 90% carrier) combined with equal parts of Black Pepper, Lemon or Neroli, Cedar Wood and Orange. This combination reduce the swelling, calmed pain and speeded up the healing process considerably. One application could last about 18 hours!

After having my second knee surgery, I applied a combination of Plai, Nutmeg and Lemon in equal amounts diluted 1:9. I put this in a roll-on applicator and applied above and below the surgical area. Tissue inflammation and swelling was significantly lower than on my other knee that had had the same surgery without the use of Plai. I didn't need to take any pain meds since this combination alone controlled the pain.

I like to use a combination of Plai with Tarragon (or sometimes Rosemary) and Cypress for my asthma. It causes the attacks to greatly diminish in intensity. I believe there is a long-term benefit, because I've had far less attacks and less intense attacks since using this protocol.

I've had irritable bowel syndrome for several years, and Plai along with Black Pepper, Orange and Tarragon applied across my abdomen after each bowel movement or anytime I experience cramping or pain calms ever discomfort down considerably.

I so happy to report that my chronic menstrual cramping is finally under control (or perhaps gone for good - I hope!). I applied the combination of Plai, Marjoram and Orange across the lower back and front abdoment every 15 minutes until the pain subsided, and after three applications, all cramps ceased and blood clots diminished.

Safety:

Avoid eye contact. In case of accidental contact, put a few drops of any pure vegetable oil in the eye. Water will not adequately dilute the oil. We’ve never known this to cause permanent injury or long-term discomfort, but if you feel concerned, please call your doctor if necessary.
