The entire process of reproduction is regulated by the endocrine system. Odors have a powerful influence on the limbic system of the brain, including the hypothalamus, which regulates the female reproductive system via the pituitary gland. Many women using essential oils find that symptoms of PMS, menstruation and menopause may be alleviated by inhaling essential oils. There are essential oils that are regarded as having estrogenic properties, and some have been proven through scientific studies to have chemical compounds that bind to estrogen receptors in the body. They may have mild regulatory effects on the female reproductive system.

 

Essential oils that have estrogenic properties are:

ANISEED – contains anethole

FENNEL – the most phytoestrogenic essential oil

GERANIUM – balancing effect on endocrine system, regulates hormone function

CLARY SAGE – stimulates pituitary gland which produces estrogen, uterine tonic, powerful with Geranium

TARRAGON – helps regulate erratic periods, calms menstrual pain

MYRRH – may help clear obstructions in womb, regulates scanty peroids

LEMONGRASS

MELISSA

 

The above essential oils are used to restore menstrual flow in cases of amenorrhoea or irregular periods and to treat hormonal imbalances.

 

The following essential oils are noted as beneficial to the reproductive system:

ROSE – said to regulate the reproductive system and is very uplifting.

GERANIUM – said to have estrogenic properties and a balancing effect on hormones. Geranium combines well with Rose.

MELISSA – helps balance hormones and menstrual issues.

CHAMOMILE – relieves menstrual issues (pain).

BASIL – improves overall energy and strengthens reproductive health.

LAVENDER – relaxing, balancing

JASMINE ABSOLUTE – relaxing

CARROT SEED – tonic to hormone production, regulates menstrual cycle, thyroid regulator

YLANG YLANG – energizes reproductive organs, hormonal balance especially when used with Geranium and Lavender

CORRIANDER – stimulates estrogen, glandular tonic, stimulates vaginal secretions

 

Fertility Blend #1

Rose – regulates menstrual cycle, supports the uterus, facilitates relaxation and nurtures emotions.

Geranium – balancing to menstrual cycle and hormones.

Bergamot - relaxing and uplifting

Neroli - relaxing and uplifting

Ylang Ylang - relaxing and uplifting

Clary Sage – balancing for hormones, relaxing and uplifting

Lavender – soothes and relaxes the nervous system

Sweet Almond oil (carrier oil)

(Best results when used 1-3 months. It is not recommended to use long-term while pregnant.)

 

Recipe #2

3 drops Fennel

4 drops Geranium

3 drops Vetiver

20ml Sweet Almond oil

Massage a few drops into abdomen every night for 3-4 weeks.

 

Recipe #3

20 drops Geranium Rose

5 drops Rose

5 drops Nutmeg

Emu Oil to fill the 15ml bottle

 

Recipe #4

15 drops Fennel

10 drops Geranium Rose

5 drops Coriander

Emu Oil to fill the 15ml bottle
