Although Eucalyptus Radiata shares a common cineole aroma with other eucalyptus oils, analytically it is unique. The primary difference is the presence of the constituent, piperitone, also a component of peppermint. Other than that the aroma is quiet similar to Eucalyptus Globulus.

Extraction Method: Steam distilled from leaves

1,8-Cineole 83.41%

alpha-Terpineol 6.53%

alpha-Terpinyl acetate 2.21%

alpha-Pinene 1.78%

Terpinen-4-ol 1.00%

Limonene 0.95%

Piperitone 0.03%

Properties and Usage:

Eucalyptus Radiata is antibacterial, antiviral, expectorant, anti-inflammatory

It is useful for respiratory and sinus infections, is a decongestant, is helpful for rheumatism, arthritis, joint and muscle pain. Combine Eucalyptus Radiata with Bergamot to effectively fight Herpes simplex.

 

Application:

Topical: Dilute Eucalyptus Radiata 50/50 with a carrier oil and apply on location or as desired

Inhalation: Diffuse (undiluted)

Internal:  Eucalyptus Radiata is used in toothpastes and blends that are considered safe for internal usage.

 

Safety:

Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or UV light if applying to exposed skin. Avoid eye contact. In case of accidental contact, put a few drops of any pure vegetable oil in the eye. Water will not adequately dilute the oil. We’ve never known this to cause permanent injury or long-term discomfort, but if you feel concerned, please call your doctor if necessary.
