Key Constituents:

Citronellal 36.63%

Geraniol 22.06%

Citronellol 11.47%

Elemol 3.81%

Properties:

Citronella is a powerful antioxidant. It is antibacterial, antifungal, an effective insect repellent, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antiparasitic (worms) and a relaxant.

This Citronella Java's aroma is fresh, sweet and slightly woody. It is high in citronellal and geraniol, which gives it the classic "citronella" aroma that is noted to repel insects.

This is an ideal oil to use in quality soap products and insect repellents.

Uses:

Citronella has been found useful for respiratory infections, muscle and nerve pain, digestive and intestinal issues, anxiety, skin disorders such as acne, eczema and excessively oily skin. For health issues, we suggest using our Citronella Ceylon. We use Citronella Java in soap making and insect repellents.

Farm Animal Fly Spray Recipe

Quart Spray bottle

Apple Cider Vinegar - 1 cup

Rubbing Alcohol - 1 cup

Basic H (Shaklee product) 1/4 cup

Citronella Java - 1/3 cup

Fill with water to line indicated on the spray bottle. Shake gently before spraying. This is not long lasting, but typically will work about as long as you need to be milking or working with your horse, cow or goat.

Application:

Topical: Dilute 1 part Citronella with 1 part carrier oil and apply 2-4 drops on location as desired.

Inhalation: Diffuse (undiluted)

Internal: Citronella can be taken internally: Dilute 1 part Citronella with 1 part vegetable oil, put into a capsule and take up to three time daily or as needed. For internal use, we suggest using the Citronella Ceylon.

Safety:
Avoid eye contact. In case of accidental contact, put a few drops of any pure vegetable oil in the eye. Water will not adequately dilute the oil. We’ve never known this to cause permanent injury or long-term discomfort, but if you feel concerned, please call your doctor if necessary.
